Povr — Coffee brew timer & journal
Povr is personal project I’m working on out of a desire to have a dead-simple brew timer for my coffee. When guests come over, it’s nice to be able to up the dosage really quick without having to fuss with doing math or guessing what amount of grams to use when.
On top of that, my wife and I have been trying as many 3rd wave coffee roasters as we can around the Atlanta area. That’s where the journal comes in.
Light & Dark Theme
Since coffee brewing can happen any time of day, both light and dark themes were important from the start.
The timer
Most of the reason I started building this app was so that we could easily adjust the dosage depending on the brew method and the roast. The objective wasn’t to educate users on HOW to brew coffee but rather, build a tool that helps folks who know what they’re doing do it more easily and accurately.
The Journal Entry
The journal entry is the most complex piece of UI for the whole app. Each entry is user generated after a brew. The objective with this screen was to document what you’ve brewed, how you brewed it, how you liked it, and how often you’ve brewed it.
